Split riding skirts were mainly worn by women of the West for riding horses. By the end of the decade women of the East were wearing them for riding the bicycle. This authentic split riding skirt is made of a beautiful soft brushed cotton twill and has large pewter button down each side. The split riding shirts of the 1800's were available in either calf-length or ankle-length. Ours measures approximately 36" in length. Match it up with the Brushed Twill Vest.
